The Mission of The Arts Council for Monterey County is to improve the quality of life in our region through the arts. Our programs nurture and promote access, participation and excellence in all arts disciplines.
The Arts Council provides arts education to thousands of students each year thanks to support from local PTAs, foundations, businesses and individuals. We provide promotional, technical and financial support to over fifty arts organizations thanks to funding from the Monterey County Board of Supervisors and a grant from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation.

P.S. Participating in the arts is good for your brain! As Stephanie Kwolek, the Inventor of Kevlar notes: "All sorts of things can happen when you're open to new ideas and playing around with things."
